Cheap DVDR

DVD-R is a DVD format which is recordable. A DVD-R type has a storage capacity of 4.71 GB. This means that a tremendous amount of data can be stored in such device. Procurement of a cheap DVDR is not very hard. A DVDR has approximately 6.5 times the capacity of a CDR.

The only flip side of such cheap priced DVDR's is that the data stored on these cannot be changed. A DVD recorder which is also known as a DVDR is a recorder with an optical disc that is capable of recording videos. These videos can be recorded in the blank writeable DVDs. These devices are also available as stand alone components or are available with the personal computers as installable drives. These are generally used in the home theatre systems or in studios where such recording is done.

The cheap priced DVDR is generally of three forms such as the DVD- RAM, DVD-RW, DVD+RW. These are not compatible in a direct mode. These are in other words not compatible with the standard DVD readers.

The standalone devices such as DVDR which are cheap also, had their origins in Japan in the late 90’s. Initially these were very expensive. They were not affordable by many. However as time passed and newer models emerged on the scene with the aid of large scale economies, expenses and cost of production came down. This resulted in lowering of the price of the DVDR.
